Buick Century History
Buick Century debuted in 1982 introducing the longer intermediate front-wheel drive. It came
out with coupe, sedan and station wagon. Buick Century is being manufactured by
General Motors Corporation. The 1991 Buick Century got only a new grille, turn
signals and front-end trim. In 1992 it had dropped its price. In the following
there was an added driver-side airbag which is optional for Special trim, body
colored rub strips and side moldings.
The Engine has become a 2.2-liter which was a replacement for the 2.5-liter engine.
The driver-side airbag so as an antilock braking was made standard for all trims
in 1994 model, however the trims were only the sedans and wagons, for the coupe
was dropped this time. Also new is a grille, a 120-horsepower generating 2.2-liter
engine and a 3.1-liter V6, while only a backlit instrument cluster and seats were
the changes in 1995.

Before the Buick had undergone complete redesign in 1997, the 1996 year model
offered the engine coolant that was intended to last for five years as well as
the stainless steel exhaust system, and the V6 engine was made standard for all
models except for the Special sedan. After fifteen years the total redesign came.
Buick Century came out as a midsize sedan with more than 4 inches longer than
its predecessor. The station wagon was dropped. The Century has now offered dual
airbags and antilock brakes. In 1998 there were few changes which include the
reduced-power airbags.
Traction control and a standard tire-inflation monitor came out for 1999, and
the suspension has returned. In the next four year many changes occurred with
Buick to further enhance its performance and convenience with adding more items
for the purpose. Before the end of 2004, the 2005 Buick Century shall come out
in the market.
